Fytagoras’ intern Selin Sonmezdag and her supervisor Yingjie Zhou established efficient protoplast regeneration in rape seed. In line with this Fytagoras is developing efficient protoplast regeneration protocols in difficult crops, like pepper. The photograph shows a rape seed protoplast and a regenerated plantlet (just released from the tissue culture jar) from such protoplast. In our protocol high-quality regeneration experiments can be performed with reproducible results. Our technology accelerates the breeding process and promotes the growth of sustainable, resilient crops.
